Overview

Provenance Consulting is a recognized leader in developing and implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) programs for oil, gas, and chemical plants and facilities. We specialize in services specific to OSHA’s PSM elements including engineering evaluations, risk assessments, software implementation and development, and engineering information management. We believe that implementing and maintaining a comprehensive PSM program is the foundation to a facility’s long-term success.

 

Location:

 

This position may be executed from either of the Provenance locations: Borger, TX or Houston, TX.  Travel should be expected 50% - 75% of the time. Relocation incentives will be provided for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

The Sales Director is expected to provide strategic direction in all functional areas of sales and marketing, as well as serve as a link between Provenance and Clients. Emphasis is placed on communication and effectively serving internal and external customers. This requires vision and guidance to his/her team and entrusting the team to execute projected revenue quotas for the goods or services provided by Provenance.

 

The Sales Director will report to the Managing Partner who will establish clear expectations in terms of work quality, efficiency, and technical development. The Sales Director will work directly with upper management, supervisors, employees, and clients and therefore must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral methods.


To fulfill this role, the Sales Director will:

  • Partner with leadership team members in executing initiatives and projects to achieve strategic business goals
  • Manage, supervise, and review direct reports
  • Provide dedicated focus on company products as well as development of new accounts
  • Define, organize, and develop relationships with key decision makers at assigned and new accounts
  • Create and expand sales for company products and services in defined targets
  • Manage and increase revenue and gross margin on existing, prior, and new customers at defined targets
  • Develop, maintain, and advances client relationships through sales strategies and client contacts, resulting in new contracts and added value for our clients
  • Responsible for development and management of sales pursuits / relationships and presentation efforts
  • Lead pricing strategy development and pricing reviews, and develops bid & proposal estimates
  • Negotiate contracts through collaboration with and support from operations, legal, contracts, and accounting
  • Maintain contact with key markets and customers
  • Plan and direct sales force activities to maximize potential sales volume and profit from all segments of the market
  • Ensure execution of the developed sales strategies, plans, and advertising and promotional programs
  • Direct the management staff in meeting sales objectives and goals

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required (Engineering degreed preferred)
  • 10+ years in sales is required
  • 3+ years sale experience in the petrochemical industry preferred
  • 5+ years in a supervisory role required
  • Understanding the sales cycles for products and services and ability to retain and grow revenue through large and complex sales
  • Experience in strategic planning, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate contracts
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Prior experience successfully leading a sales team and applying sound leadership and strategic thinking skills
  • Advanced analytical skills and strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral); strong organizational skills and project management abilities
  • Ability to develop technical and financial understanding of refinery and petrochemical operations (i.e. oil and gas industry standards and recommending practices)
  • The unrestricted right to work in the United States
