Overview

Provenance Consulting is a recognized leader in developing and implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) programs for oil, gas, and chemical plants and facilities. We specialize in services specific to OSHA’s PSM elements including engineering evaluations, risk assessments, software implementation and development, and engineering information management. We believe that implementing and maintaining a comprehensive PSM program is the foundation to a facility’s long-term success.

 

Location:

 

The position is located in Houston, TX, with possible work at other locations. Travel up to 5% of the time is possible.

Responsibilities

The Data Technician will work with a combination of software applications, engineering drawings, and spreadsheets in order to perform engineering data entry and document generation. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, quality of the work product, and the efficiency of work execution.  The Data Technician will report to a Project Lead who will establish clear expectations in terms of work quality, efficiency, and technical development.

 

To fulfill this role, the Data Technician will:

 

  • Scan, copy and prepare documents
  • Work with plant drawings (piping and instrument diagrams, Plot Plans, and Piping Isometrics)
  • Enter engineering data into various software applications
  • Manage files and records
  • Maintain the office environment
  • Drive as needed to pick-up and deliver supplies
  • Process time cards and expense reports
  • Generate documents and compile reports
  • Schedule appointments, meetings and travel
  • Comply with all Provenance and client safety procedures that govern the work being performed

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have zero to two years of experience in a professional/office environment
  • Have a high school diploma/GED, or preferably an associate's degree
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding of high school-level mathematics
  • Be very detailed oriented 
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Be able to type
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have experience in reading engineering drawings, which is preferred but not required
  • Have legal authorization to work in the United States

Other combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
